Siamac Vaghar’s experience spans across numerous major projects and activities. Of note is his work for ten years as senior Geotechnical (Instrumentation) Engineer on the Boston’s Central Artery/Tunnel Project (the Big Dig) in Boston, Massachusetts.
Project 1: Forensic evaluation of building settlement, North End, Boston
Evaluation and analyses of potential construction impact on historic building, involving ground deformations, foundations, instrumentation and vibration monitoring.
Project 2: Coastal Storm Risk Management feasibility study, City of Boston
Study of geotechnical elements of coastal works in relation to sea level rise and storm surge, including subsurface evaluations, sea wall defenses and engineering with nature.
